Bedfordshire Bonsai Society
Bedfordshire Bonsai society is a friendly group of bonsai enthusiasts who meet fortnightly. The Society was formed in 1979 by Dennis Linsdell when he realised that a steadily growing interest in the art would be best served by getting those interested in Bonsai together to exchange views, ideas and practical experience. ALLAREWELCOME at the meetings regardless of experience – and of course beginners have the most to gain by joining the society.
The years programme includes talks, practical demonstrations, workshops, and auction sales of Bonsai material. Guidance, help and advice are always available from the more experienced members and membership is encouraged whatever your level of skill; guests will always be welcomed by the society.
Each year there we visit specialist bonsai events organised by other societies, the Federation of British Bonsai Societies or the Bonsai Traders Association. We also arrange our own shows and displays at the Arndale Mall inLutonor Poplars Garden Centre, at which we display our trees, demonstrate various bonsai techniques and advise visitors on the care of their own bonsai.
The Society has a comprehensive library of books on Bonsai, covering all aspects of Bonsai culture. There also slides and videotapes. The library is kept up to date, with new publications added as they become available.
Please do not hesitate to contact the Chairman or attend a meeting – even if you have never touched a bonsai, if you are interested in the subject you will be made most welcome.
